Sho Hasegawa

Paths of Light

The guy with the skating shoes is back! On September 6th we will open the first solo exhibition of Sho Hasegawa in Frankfurt: “Paths of light”.

Sho Hasegawa will present new works from his series “Winter Landscapes”, which he made in Berlin and the Antarctica. For this conceptual work, which shifts between drawing, photography, and painting, Sho skated the ice of Berlin lakes and the Antarctica. While he was skating, he generated electricity from his skating shoes. This electricity he used to run a black box with a light pen. In this black box he drew his pictures blind on a photo negative. An intriguing work on slowness, climate change and, of course, on ice skating.

Besides these new “Winter Landscapes”, Sho will present new “photographs” on nature and light. We hope to see you at the opening vernissage on Thursday, September 6th, 7-9pm.

Or during our extended opening hours for Saisonstart Frankfurter Galerien 2018:
Friday, September 7th, 4 — 10pm,
Saturday, September 8th, 10am — 6pm,
