The exhibition DisOrder explored the relationship of order and disorder in the works of Robert Schwark and Sebastian Ritschel. The digitally printed paintings of Sebastian impress by their expressive and chaotic gestures. But if one gets close, the paintings reveal their digital structure, and the order of pixels replaces the disorder of expressionism. On the other hand, Robert’s paintings at first glance seem to be full of precision and perfection. But every brushstroke, every layer in Robert’s work, shows the disorder and tentative structure of the process of painting.
