Kyoung Jae Cho & Peter Müller

Transformer

Photographs by Kyoung Jae Cho and plastics by Peter Müller

Kyoung Jae Cho and Peter Müller are masters of metamorphosis. Both “transform” simple or abandoned material into aesthetically convincing artworks. While Peter creates sculptures from papier maché, horns, or bamboo, KJ first of all is a collector of things. He finds them as bulky waste on the streets, in wasteyards, or in the fund of theaters. From these things he makes his installations. But the photos he takes from these installations do not fulfill a documentary purpose. They give new meaning to the installations and transform them for a second time.
